DOCUMENTARY STUDY OF ECONOMY AND VERMONT
The light's different in Vermont than in Berkeley California, or Los Angeles California or even Boston Massachusetts. For me, part of landing back on the East Coast has been re-connecting with the light here, which in many ways is also re-connecting with what it means to be home.
Over two years, I spent several weeks in Vermont getting to know the people and places in different communities for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The project is very much about Vermont itself and it's particular economy. I chose to use natural light and a mix of hand held strobes to photograph a mix of communities, portraits and organizations. The production has been very Covid friendly as I work alone, in true documentary fashion, photographing mostly outdoors.
